She was the first Afghan artist to represent her country at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. Her work has been shown in several biennials and International art exhibitions such as, San Paulo Biennial 2006, Gwangju Biennial 2006, Moscow Biennial 2007, Sharjah Biennial 2007 and dOCUMENTA XIII in 2012.
