Filippo Perocco

Filippo Perocco (Treviso, 1972) lives and works in Italy

Composer, conductor and organist.
Co-founder and artistic director of ensemble L’arsenale.
As a conductor, he collaborates with different ensembles promoting work of different composers.

He usually combines conventional instruments with self-home-made instruments; debris, rubbles, ruins as essential extra-musical elements in his compositional approach.
His music “is placed in the neutral area that prepares the knowledge, and jumps on stage to tell us not the permanence or the substance of things, but their perpetual fragility and elusiveness” (Premio Enriquez).

His works are regularly performed and commissioned by different ensemble and festivals.

His opera Aquagranda, commissioned by Teatro La Fenice, received the “XXXVI Premio della Critica Musicale Franco Abbiati – 2017”.

Composer in residence (European Centre for the Arts di Dresda, AARome, IIC di Parigi), visiting Fulbright professor at Tufts University di Boston and visiting composer (Boston University, Conservatoire national supérieur de Paris, New York University).
He teaches at Conservatory of Music in Trieste.
